Day 14 — Enjoy the Dusk, Celebrate the Day

You are on a journey to connect more with yourself and understand your core. No matter where you have reached on that journey this is an appropriate time to stop and just appreciate where you are and who you are.

Celebrate Your Achievement

Maybe you have learned things about yourself that may have surprised you. Maybe you have confirmed what you already know. Wherever you are it is important to celebrate what you have achieved and rest in the knowledge that change is already happening.

You may have found that all is not how you would like it to be, that's OK, it's important that you go through this phase. There is plenty of time to work on this, for now, just enjoy yourself.

People live for the dream in their hearts. And I have yet to know anyone who has not some secret dream, some hope, however dim, some storied wall to look at in the dusk, some painted window leading to the soul.

The Gap

When I started attending personal development seminars one of the great discoveries I made was the concept of the gap. The gap is the space between where you are and where you want to be.

One of the critical aspects of this is understanding where you are. This may sound easy but, for me, it proved not to be. I was so focused on who I wanted to be that I didn't really understand who I was. I just wanted to rush forward and create a new life but I didn't understand that this didn't work in isolation.

I stopped to assess what I had done in life and how I had behaved. From there I came to understand the forces in my life that had helped to shape me. More important than that was the fact that I began to understand how I had used those forces to create who I was. It was the choices I made not the forces that were important.

Understanding myself I could see the gap ahead of me and I was ready to jump it.
