Almost a lifetime ago I started practicing yoga with an Iyengar teacher. I did not know any different. It was rigorous, precise and physically tough. I was in my twenties, physically fit and could deal with it.
More recently I went on to practice Sivananda and Integral Yoga, by Swami Satchidananda. They were more relaxed than Iyengar Yoga but still tough on my body.
Now my practice has shifted completely, leaving the physical rigour behind, but my yoga has deepened and become an intense regular practice,
