Day 26 — Enjoying The Person You Are
Acceptance is important, indeed critical in developing your confidence and certainty. For a truly amazing life you need to go beyond that and enjoy who you are. I find it interesting to see how many people don't enjoy their life. This is particularly true for men who are focused and dedicated to the life they lead. They have found success and gained a reputation but they just can't find a way to enjoy it.
Do You Keep Achieving?
They feel a responsibility to keep achieving, creating and succeeding and don't quite understand why they have to do it. They hanker after a quiet life in the country but feel that in pursuing that they would be letting others down.
In truth they are letting themselves down by not doing what the enjoy. They are seeing where they are now as necessary but no fun, what a shame.
Allow your love to nourish yourself as well as others. Do not strain after the needs of life. It is sufficient to be quietly alert and aware of them. In this way life proceeds more naturally and effortlessly. Life is here to Enjoy!
When My Attitude Changed
I am now at a stage in life where I thoroughly enjoy who I am.
I used to be nervous about contacting and relating to others because I feared how they would see me. I spent sometime as a salesman and I completely sucked at it because I was so conscious of what others might think of me. I was so afraid that they would see behind the mask and find out what I was really like inside.
When I was eventually able to understand what was going on and I was able to work on this issue my whole attitude changed. I decided to drop the mask and be the same with everyone in all areas of my life. I felt liberated and I let go of fear. I became more rebellious and certainly more fun. I found a way to enjoy life and show people that I did.
I let go of my career of 40 years and started to do what I love, writing. I created a new life for myself, a life based on enjoyment as well as success. Perversely I can now focus on making money at what I do because I have nothing to hide.
Challenge
- Do you enjoy life? Do you show that you enjoy life? Do people see that you enjoy life?
- How aware are you of what others think of you, how others see you? Does it matter to you?
- Do you have any masks that hide what you feel about yourself?
- What is stopping you from enjoying life even more? What do you enjoy most about your life?
