Day 37 — What Will You Stake Your Life On?

What is the major principle in your life? What will you stake your life on? This has often been very clear for men. The periods of world war in the twentieth century had clear cut issues of freedom that many men related to.

What is Life Worth?

All fathers like to feel they would defend their children with their lives and hope that they never have to put this to the test. Beyond that it is far less clear cut. What do men have defend? What is there in life that is worth or demands the ultimate sacrifice?

What will you stake your life on? It is time to look at what is important to you. Maybe you have never been put to the test, if you were, suddenly, where would you stand.

If you greatly desire something, have the guts to stake everything on obtaining it.

Freedom is Vital

I have never faced this question and do not know the answer.

I am a very opinionated person who believes strongly in many things. When I was young I was a staunch member of CND and demonstrated for Nuclear Disarmament. I feel the void of being born just after the Second World War and feel the lack of an issue that I would regard as worth dying for.

I think freedom is vital and is something precious that we take for granted. many men have laid down their to ensure we have it. I also believe in non-violent solutions, particularly in light of my angry past.

Maybe I should celebrate not having to lay own my life for freedom, or anything else. There are many people in this world who do not have this freedom, how would I feel in their position? I just don't know.
